Inspired
I was promised an “epic West African inspired YA fantasy” and that was what I got.
I have to say that, although this is not aimed at my age group (and there’s a big age gap!), I really enjoyed it. It's a challenging read that I think YA's would appreciate.
The author literally built her world around me and I was lost in a mythical West Africa.
I love the concept of the Ray and there are some good messages being sent out here, without hitting you in the head.
The Lady intrigued me. I confess that I was left wanting to know her full story. Indeed, there are many ‘back stories’ here that I would like to know more about.
Great mythical fantasy.
Thank you to Readers First, Hot Key Books and Jordan Ifueko for the ARC in return for my honest review.
