Okay so hear me out. I think raybearer is a good book. It has one of my favourite world building ever! I just didn't fully vibe with it. I bought the book because i was in love with the synopsis and that gave me high expectations. I thought this book would me more enemies to lovers centered but that wasn't reallt the case. The book still had a lot of good moments, it was just very different from what i expected. That did make the book very original compared to a lot of those standard ya books. The book also gave me a lot of middle grade vibes, which i don't know if that was on purpose or not but i personally don't really like middle grade books. So i think didn't fully love this book because of the fact that it gave me a lot of middle grade vibes but the book itself was really good. The writing style was great, the plot, the world which was so cool. So i think you should give this book a chance but don't expect great enemies to lovers ya book with morally grey characters.
