this novel is a ya fantasy based on west african folklore if the cover of this book alone does nit sell ur to you then i dint know what will i truly loved this book the storytelling was stron the magic and lore system so in depth and the characters extremely three dimensional and distinctive all of the issues these characters faces seemed unsolvable but the problem solving was incredible and so genius i didn’t correctly predict even one thing during the reading process of this book i was completely in awe and could nit put it down. i’m now wondering where is the hype that this book deserves (read raybearer for clear skin) this is one of the best books i’ve read this year it has romance it has magic it has friendship and is set in one of the most vivid west african settings you’ve ever seen plus the main character is basically the epitome of black girl magic and lets nit forget the betrayal plus some other quite frankly creepy stuff that goes down this is amazing and you really should read it now!!!!!
