I LOVED this book!!!!
This is a fantasy novel based on west African folklore and has some of the best story telling I have read in a long time. The cover and descriptions of the is book are beautiful and should sell the book to you in itself. The magic system that is presented to us is very well thought out and quite dynamic. I really enjoyed the relationship between the characters and how close they became to each other and how cute they were together. I did find the first few chapters slightly confusing because of the time jumps but after them I was completely hooked. There was some romance but I wouldn’t say that was the main focus of the book. There was murder, mystery and betrayal even and I can safely say that there was not one part of the plot I was able to guess while reading. Pick this book up and you will definitely not regret it, it is 100% worth a read.
