This book captured me within the first sentence. Ifueko has a way of writing which creates a fantasy world effortlessly, and it is hard to believe this is her debut novel! I was pulled effortlessly into the intricate world of spirits, realms, emperors, and forms of magic. The fast pace of the plot kept me glued to the pages, unable to put the book down!
Raybearer is truly one of the most unique book I have read in a long time. Ifueko has created some beautifully immersive and sincere characters, and I find myself wanting nothing but the best things for Dayo and Sanjeet. The way in which Ifueko deals with themes of identity, loyalty, belonging, and the idea of justice versus order, is beautifully done and adds such depth to the plot and her characters.
I cannot wait for the next instalment of this masterpiece of a book, it truly cannot come quick enough!
