I was drawn into this story about 12 year old Rayleigh against my will by the excellent writing. The synopsis did not appeal to me as a reader at all but I was won over by the excellent writing and the originality of the story.
Just wondering whether the length of the book and the ‘grown up’ writing may be off putting for the Young Adults the book is intended for. Still this formula worked for Harry Potter……….
