I was given a copy of this from Readers First in exchange for an honest review. I am obviously not the intended audience of this book as it is aimed at younger readers (I would say it is best suited for 10-11 year old readers) but I did enjoy it. The cover artwork is detailed and vibrant and I liked the lead protagonist, Rayleigh. It flows well and has a good pace to it which will keep its target audience entertained and the world building is good. It has been left open for more sequels which I would certainly follow up as I was left wanting to know more about what happens. The only thing I would say was that in places the dialogue just didn't seem to fit the characters - there was a lot of language I felt would not be said by a typical 10-11 year old and this might make it harder for them to relate to the book. Otherwise I thought it was well done and I would happily follow the rest of the series.
