I thought the first impression read was very formulaic for the genre, a lot of quick exposition and back story and a cheating husband that results in a murder somehow.
However in saying that I quite liked the character of Brioni and her willingness to help, I feel like she might become the main character rather than the wife, so that is probably the main anticipated twist in the tail so far. I did like the simple descriptions of the scene and characters, it wasn't overdone so your mind paints the scene easily.
