I’ve read The Dark Room by Sam Blake which I really enjoyed so I was keen and excited to read this one, and I wasn’t disappointed! This book is brilliant. It is a really fast paced read, with plenty of intrigue, and fantastic twists and turns that take you right up to the end. I really enjoyed The Dark Room but this book is even better, just that bit edgier, darker, and with an even smarter story.
The story is told from the perspective of Cressida Howard and Brioni O’Brien. Cressida discovers her husband has been having an affair so employs Brioni O’Brien to find the evidence she needs for a financially rewarding divorce. But what Brioni discovers is far more than a bit of a fling on the side, as she discovers that Laurence Howard is involved with some very dangerous people who will go to any lengths to come out on top putting Cressida and her daughter in danger.
I loved the character of Brioni she was very engaging, and felt very genuine and real. I hope to get to meet her again sometime.
