Although it starts a little slow, I really enjoyed this thrilling novel. After the first half, the pace begins to pick up, and the speed of events is so exciting, I couldn't put this book down!
The main female characters, Cressida, Brioni and Emily-Jane, are all super smart in their own way. We immediately feel for Cressida and the issues she is facing with her husband, introduced in the very beginning and are on tenterhooks throughout. I also enjoyed the references towards current events, working to really cement the novel as a current read. The pacing is excellent, the chapters shortening towards the end to really increase the tension. I stayed up past midnight to finish this because I was so hooked!
There were a number of twists and turns that caught me by surprise, and I usually see twists coming! I'll definitely be on the lookout for more by Sam Blake.
