I was not disappointed with my first dip into the world of Sam Blake's writing. This thrilling novel was an un-putdownable read with relatable and engaging characters. Set post-lockdown and including Jeffrey Epstein references, it's most definitely set in the current climate. I could easily envisage a screenplay and film of this book as it would work well on the big screen with the stunning landscape of coastal Dublin juxtaposed with the city, hi-tech business and stunning homes. Each character is well-formed. I especially liked sassy Emily-Jane and Brioni; it's great to read a story featuring strong-willed, highly capable, intelligent and independent women who are not portrayed as victims or there just for the sake of love interest. It's interesting to read in the Acknowledgements that other books by Blake feature some of the same characters, about whom I am curious to read more. I highly recommend this novel for an easy, exciting and thrilling read.
