Rewind by Catherine Ryan Howard starts with a brutal murder in a holiday cottage, neither the murderer nor the victim are identified by the author. The murder is recorded on camera but, intriguingly, the murderer knows the camera is there and destroys the camera after murdering the woman, not before. Andrew the manager of the holiday cottages has placed the camera there to watch the woman but how did the murderer know about it. The next mystery arises when Natalie O'Connor, a successful and well-known Instagram influencer, disappears, leaving her husband and books into the holiday cottages using her middle name and married name which she doesn't normally use to avoid being found. She is given the cottage where the murder took place which is exactly what she wanted but why, and is she very brave or very foolish. The author then introduces the readers to Audrey who is about to become homeless and works at the entertainment section of The Paper, and online news site. Her boss has read that Natalie O'Connor is missing and gives the job of finding her to Audrey as the news team aren't interested. So many mysteries to be resolved; readers, like me, will be eagerly awaiting the opportunity to read the rest of this gripping thriller and discovering the identities of the murderer and victim and what becomes of Natalie.
