Reading this book reminds me of watching a film on an old video recorder, where you keep on pressing rewind or fast forward to get to the next bit of the story. This book is in chunks like that too. I have never read a book like it before, normally you get the date mentioned or the place and time.
Set in a small seaside town called Shanamore, a three hour drive from Dublin, where nothing much happens, especially out of season. But one night a young woman is brutally killed in a small holiday cottage bedroom. The owner has set up a surveillance camera in the bedroom to spy on customers but this night he sees more than he bargained for. Full of twists, you don't know who to believe out of the group of people who are in the book, are they covering themselves or did they do it. If you don't like books that jump from one timescale to another, you may find this book hard to follow, but it does "work" in a strange way that is hard to describe. This book was ok in places, but sometimes I did find myself wondering who was who and what was happening, the storyline could have been a bit more easy flowing in my opinion. Although as it got to the end of the book it seemed to get more involved and this made it such that you had to read it to the last page to find out what really happened.
