Natalie, an Instagram ‘influencer’ arrives at the quiet cottages in the town of Shanamore, county Cork. Although to other people it might seem like a ‘holiday’, she went there for a purpose. Natalie had suspicions that her husband was cheating, and she was there to prove it.
Creepy Andrew (who is also the manager of the Shanamore cottages), watches his guests on camera. So far, it seems like every character has something to hide. When he wakes up, he finds something incredibly disturbing. He rewinds the tape and finds that Natalie was brutally murdered.
I really enjoyed the writing style as it made the scenery in Cork very easy to imagine. I also think that the way the books was split into rewind, pause, fast forward and stop as very, very clever.
I think that some of the ideas the author had could have been expanded, as many of the characters’ backstories were basically useless.
This book was a fast paced, creepy, psychological thriller.
