Gripping mystery thriller
*3.5 stars rounded up*
This was a solid mystery thriller! I was instantly hooked after reading the synopsis and read the entire thing in a couple of sittings
We follow Natalie, an Instagram influencer living a seemingly-perfect life with her husband in Dublin. Simultaneously, we follow Audrey who's a little down on her luck working at an online paper writing small fluff pieces. Both women's narratives begin to intertwine when Natalie suddenly goes missing and Audrey takes the opportunity to follow the story in the hopes of advancing her career
The writing in this book was really good, I was immersed throughout and could really picture the small Irish village setting. The characters felt like real people and their decisions were believable, which I always appreciate. I also really enjoyed how the story unfolded, it was paced well and details were revealed at the perfect moment
The book took me a little while to get into, just because of the multiple POVs and time jumping. I'd find myself getting invested in one part of the plot before being transported to a seemingly-random, new character's POV in the next chapter, pulling me out of it. Thankfully the solid writing let me sink into each POV easily, and it all came together in the end
