Rewind tells the story of a murder that takes place in Shanamore holiday cottages, which is witnessed by the rather creepy manager, Andrew, who has set up hidden cameras in the bedrooms.

Natalie O'Connor, using a false name, has left Cork, and her husband Mike, who she believes is having an affair, and travelled by train and bus to get to Shanamore holiday cottages, where she believes her husband met up with this other woman.

Audrey works on the entertainment section of The Paper, an online news site, and it's her job to create clickbait stories to earn traffic for the website. She's told about the Instagram influencer, Natalie O'Connor, who has been missing for a week, and decides to carry out her own investigation into Natalie's disappearance and traces her to Shanamore holiday cottages. She heads there to see if she can find out more.

It's intriguing to discover how everything fits together and what exactly happened in Shanamore. It's an interesting concept as the story is told in reverse so you have to 'rewind' to find out whodunnit!

I was a bit disappointed by this book – it held my interest but I thought it was a bit predictable and, despite a few red herrings, I guessed the storyline early on. I also wasn't sure about the way it was divided up into play, pause and rewind sections and found it rather confusing.

This one didn't really work for me but I've enjoyed Catherine Ryan Howard's other novels so will definitely be checking out her books in the future.
