This is a very intriguing concept, we see the murder then rewind to discover the hows and whys. Featuring a range of creepy characters it’s pretty hard to work out who did kill Instagram influencer Natalie however wannabe news journalist Audrey is as keen as the Guards (police) to discover what happened to missing Natalie.
This is a pacy book told in a mix of time frames but in a way that means it can be easily followed. Most of the characters are flawed, some more than others but I didn’t personally find any overly likeable. The storyline is fresh, the culprit does become obvious slightly before the end but you don’t fully grasp the situation until the penultimate chapter. The final chapter neatly ties everything up but is in some ways superfluous. Overall though this is a good thriller and a steady read to boot.
