Historical fiction has never been a genre that appeals to me but I was willing to give this one a go by reading the sample. Unfortunately it did not interest me enough to change my mind about the genre and I think this book would be best enjoyed by somebody who has read the previous 7 in the series.
It's premise seems interesting enough, especially to those with an interest in Ancient Rome, and the writing style seemed decent enough. Personally though I am not interested in reading any more of this or any other books by this author.
