I think it was partly my poor choice choosing this book - it’s not something I would normally reach for and it’s part of a series which didn’t help either. I initially managed a couple of chapters but it didn’t grip me and I struggled to read any more. I had another go more recently but again it didn’t do anything for me. I don’t like the cover which shouldn’t make a difference but I feel like it sets you up in a certain mind going into the book. Saying that, I’ve definitely read worse books so I couldn’t give this book only one star. I think if you’re into this style and you’ve read the rest in the series then it should be right up your alley! And I shall try to choose more wisely in the future!
