Instantly this book cover caught my eye, it stands out and although gives little clue about the story made me want to dive in. This book feels brand new, unlike many novels it doesn’t feel like a story retold but it a fascinating insight into a different world I know little about. The characters are amazing and the writing really brings them to life. It did take a few pages to get into the language but once I did it fits the narrative perfectly. I always enjoy books about cultures new to me and cannot wait to read this, to see what happens to the characters and learn of their journeys in the class system of Singapore.
