When I began reading the sneak peek of this novel it felt like I had come into it halfway through the story so was trying to pick up what was going on.
I found the storyline interesting particularly about Imo’s family and was intrigued to find out what had happened to Sher.
However I really didn’t like the writing style of the book. I understand it’s set in Singapore and the author was trying to make it sound more authentic and true to life but for me this didn’t work. It made the writing seem disjointed and it was hard to find a flow for shat was going on.
In my opinion I wouldn’t go out and by this book due to the writing style and although I found the plot enjoyable, I don’t have a burning desire to read more.
