Sarong Party Girls by Cheryl Lu-Lien Tan

I wasn’t 100% sure what to expect before I read this book. It was touted as Emma with a modern Asian twist, which had me quite curious to read it. I have to say this book was hilariously funny, however highlighted some of the more sinister sides of the Singapore nightlife that I did personally find a little unsettling. Having said this, it did add to the story and made it more realistic, as I’m sure these things happen in real life.

This story follows four Asian girls who are in their late 20’s, one of which marries a Singaporean man; however, the others are looking to marry a white business man, who can afford the extravagant type of lifestyles they desire.

This book although not particularly my cup of tea, was enjoyable.
