I’m sure this is a great novel if you can get your head around the writing style. I gave it a few chapters and still couldn’t get into it, it’s written on Singlish which I though I would love having visited the country and spoken with lots of locals, but I just could not get to grips with it, to me it just felt childish.
Also wasn’t a fan of the initial storyline of a group of girls trying to find a man, seems a bit cliche. It may have developed into something more interesting to me but couldn’t read past the first few chapters.
Really shame but this book just isn’t for me. I’m sure it will be loved by others but the writing style was the main issue for me. I may give it another go in future, it’s not a complete right off.
