Sarong Party Girls is a book that I was unsure about but intrigued to read as it sounded like such a fun and unique read. It is about a girl called Jazzy who decides she is going to find a white husband and organise a glamorous wedding. Although I did realise this book was written in 'singlish' (a combination of English and Singaporean slang) I found it a lot harder to read and understand than I expected. Along with the fact I found the story slow I ended up wanting to give up along the way. I didn't find the characters particularly interesting or likeable and though it was set with a Singapore lifestyle I didn't really enjoy this as a setting. Although I finished the book I do wish I'd stopped when I was first unsure, this may be a book some people enjoy but for me it is not a book I've enjoyed. I found it too confusing and not the easy read I had envisioned when first reading about this book.
