I really enjoyed finding out more about the society, About how the girls were treated as commodities and objects and the differences between a modern lifestyle and theirs.
I was not very invested in the story or characters, I was aware that the book will follow a group of girls trying to find husbands and have children, in order to improve their lives, which seemed to be the recipe for success in their society, but I did not like the journey very much.
I found myself skipping pages at times, it was quite difficult to read, especially as the singlish was complicated for me and made me lose interest more quickly.
I liked the ending, when the character has an awakening and sees her society for what it really is.
