I loved this book and couldn't put it down. From the First Look I was intrigued and wanted to carry on reading to discover more about what had happened,as from the beginning there are tantalising hints.....
The story is unusual and fascinating, and raised issues I had never considered previously.
Cassy's parents may at times be irritating, but deserve our sympathy. Equally, although the group that Cassy stays with can be seen to be indoctrinating her, there is also evidence of great qualities such as positivity, caring for all and real love between characters.
There are, however, also some very unsettling personalities, an overwhelming feeling of time racing by, the brooding presence of the volcano., and imminent unspecified danger.
I wasn’t sure how it would all turn out- but I found the whole book scarily credible.
