As much as I wanted to read this book quickly before I even started it, I didn't think I'd get through it as quickly as I did. But damn, Shadowblack took what was good from Spellslinger and upped it a level.
What I Liked
-Almost everything, seriously.
-Kellen's growth
-Reichis
-The humour
-The darker twists this book took
-The way Ferius teaches Kellen
-There's a little more diversity (but still needs work)
-The cover (obviously)
What I Didn't Like
-What happened to the poor crocodile.
Honestly, that's the one thing I can find wrong with this book. Spellslinger was a surprisingly enjoyable book with a beautiful cover but honestly, I loved this sequel. It was more than enjoyable enough and I have a smile on my face as I write this.
Get into this series as soon as you can guys and roll on 2018 and book 3.
