I wasn't too sure about this book. The genre is fantasy and my preference is mainly thrillers, mysteries, etc.
But! I'm making an exception for this book.
This is the second book in a series by Sebastian De Castell and it's about a boy named Kellen who fled his own people and discovered he's more of an outsider than he thought. With the help of two people - a squirrel cat and a card player he goes on an adventure and meets a blindfolded girl, who's also suffering from the mysterious plague named Shadowblack.
Now, I hope I didn't give too much information away. Anyway, the audience targeted is mostly teens and young adults, but then again, anyone can read it.

I was really surprised by how quickly I was sucked into the adventure and the illustrations in the book make the experience 100% better. I'm actually considering getting the first book just because it's absolutely ah-may-zing. I really recommend this book to whoever is looking for a different type of genre or just enjoys reading fantasy.
