The cover isn't attractive and I know we shouldn't judge a book by its cover but we do anyway and it really put me off.
However the introduction is better than the cover, it's not the vest I've read, but it's good enough.

We're introduced to Caroline who lost her child Samantha, we don't know exactly how only that Caroline and her ex-husband hunter left her without a babysitter while on holiday which sounds a lot like the author has take inspiration from the missing child Madeline Mccan. However we learn that Caroline is harassed by a myriad of reporters from all over, but when she answers on of the calls a girl tells her that she thinks she's had daughter. We then have a flashback to the events leading up to Samanthas disappearance which builds the characters very well especially planting a seed of dislike towards Samanthas sister Michelle.

Unfortunately while reading this, especially during the flashback I found Carolines character to come off as extremely weak and although that could be used for developmental purposes it puts me off reading it any further.
