I enjoyed this book right from the very beginning. It did have very strong similarities to the Madeline McCann case a few years ago. It had some very strong characters, the mother Caroline who in the beginning seemed to prefer Samantha to Michelle even though she said it was something that she would never let happen. Not much is known about younger daughter Samantha as she was only two years old when she vanished, but the older daughter Michelle was always very jealous and as a teenager got arrested for drink driving and did community work in a local hospice, but she always felt that no-one understood her. Fifteen years on Caroline eventually gets a job as a maths teacher but all the time there are newspaper articles appearing to haunt her. Carolines husband Hunter couldn't cope with the strain and divorced her. As the story goes on there is one phone call that Caroline doesn't dismiss as another hoax but what's the story behind this girl and her mother. Should Caroline and Michelle meet her with open arms or be very wary? No spoilers here but once you start this book you know that it's one of those books that you just have to find out what happens. Read it you won't be disappointed.
