Annoying characters and long, slow descriptions of the world around the heroine, thankfully don't damage too much the story, while curiosity is building about what happened and what is awaiting the protagonist later on. The main character is flawed, human, absolutely relatable to, making the whole narration absorbing, in opposition to some of the other characters, as defining for the protagonist as they can be, who are way too much of a bother, so much so that there is a risk of putting down the book and never open it again. The prose is, at times, slow, requiring a bit of effort to keep reading, forcing the reader to go over the same sentence again. All that said, the story begs to be read and the flaws to be ignored.
