I enjoyed the beginning of the novel, I found it quite gripping from the very start and the alternating chapters between the past and the present were a good touch. I felt that the characters were believable, with the normal relationship issues.

However I did find the ending a little predictable and I also felt like it was being plumped up a bit to make the book longer. The story reminded me of the case of Michaela in South Africa, she was taken as a baby by a woman desperate for a child and reunited with her birth family when she was a teenager. Also there is an obvious correlation with the case of Madeline McCann.

I think that this book would make a good holiday read as it is gripping, short and does not require much concentration.
