I don't often read books of the thriller/mystery genre, so this was quite a nice change of pace. Fielding's 'She's Not There' is a gripping, fast-paced novel from the outset, drawing my attention into the novel and keeping me there.

Fielding takes the very common parental fear of losing your children and places it at the heart of this novel. On a trip to Mexico, Caroline's daughter Samantha is kidnapped. Fifteen years after her disappearance, Samantha receives a call from a woman claiming to be her daughter, pulling her back into the mystery surrounding the disappearance.

'She's Not There' has an easily-followed narrative and compelling characters. The mystery is engaging, keeping you hooked all the way to the satisfying ending.
