The genre of mystery and kidnapping has always intrigued me and as soon as I saw this book, I wanted to read it.
I’ve never heard of the author before, but knowing she has another book out next year has made me excited to read more.
Now, back to this book, the similarities to the Madeline McCann case are hard to ignore but that only adds to the book I feel. The ending wasn’t what I expected at all and I liked the last character going over the whole night again and putting all the pieces together for us. Without giving anything away, it’s a bit of a shock! I really felt for the character of Michelle as well as the rest of the family and it was clear she was struggling and attention seeking the love from her mother.
