Poignant story
It is inevitable in reading this novel, that comparisons are drawn with the tragic Madeleine McCann case, albeit this story has a conclusion.
Suspense was built up from the start, credible characters populated the novel, some of them quite unpleasant, but gradually we are able to see why some of them behave as they do eg why Michelle is so spikey.
I did have my suspicions throughout about Samantha’s disappearance, but wasn’t totally sure how it had happened.
I did wonder early on why nobody questioned Lili about her background in more depth, nor did I feel it was explained what had made her suspicious. A little too coincidental, but, overall, a book that I didn’t want to put down, and definitely wanted to find out how it did end
