I enjoyed this book so much. I’ve never read this author before but I’ll certainly be reading more of her books. The storyline worked really well and it certainly made your heart beat faster. There were times when it made me really anxious which is always a sign of a good thriller.
The story starts 15 years earlier when Caroline and her husband, Hunter, and their two young daughters go from their San Diego home to a Mexican resort to celebrate their 10th wedding anniversary. To Caroline’s surprise, they are joined there by her brother and his wife, her best friend and her husband and a couple who are not particularly close friends who all come along to help them celebrate. Needless to say a dreadful thing happens on the last night of the trip as when the group are all having dinner together in the hotel restaurant downstairs, Caroline and Hunter’s toddler daughter is taken from their room.
The story goes from present day to 15 years ago and various years in between and it works so well. I couldn’t put it down and found it a really smashing read. Do give it a go.
