I was immediately drawn to the cover and the impression it gives of what lies outside the window. I have read a lot of historical books recently about WWII so am fascinated to see how this compares. My first impression of reading this is one of a beautifully written book as the language in these chapters is stunning. Really gives you a feel of the setting and just what the characters are going through - eager to read more!!
