This is a very moving story set in at a time and place that is believable. Two people coming together from different world's. Connie and Seppe come together in a most unlikely place but things are not always easy. The other people in the book are more like a family who look out for each other. The type of community that was around during this time. It would have been a tough time for all of them but they pulled together and helped each other out. The Italian prisoners appeared to be generally well looked after in the internment camp but it aldo shows the different types who were living in there. Some mingled with the country forestry folk others didn't. I am sure there will be a follow up which will take their lives forward.
