This is a cracking second book in the Shiver Point series. A spooky mash up packed with Frankenstein and zombie vibes, a sprinkle of robotics and a whole heap of friendship.
When strange things start happening around town it's time for the gang to investigate again. Riley, the inventor, really shines in this tale - but all of the characters are multi faceted. With a host of different strengths they work together to face up to their latest challenge and what a challenge. An abandoned farmhouse with a past, a mysterious entity which seems set on revenge and no obvious common thread which connects all the victims.
Creepy without being scary, this tale is fast paced and a real page turner. It's a great length too, with nice large and easily readable text. With plenty of peril and adventure, I'll never look at a scarecrow in the same way again!
