Following on from a group of friends finding each other in book one, this book takes them and encourages their friendship to blossom further, as well as for them to develop as individuals.
These books are bound to make a grand addition to the shelves of middle grade lovers, child and adult alike. Fans of the Goodebumps series and new series Dread Wood will find the balance of character development and spooky occurrences to suit them well. Also one for fans of the Aveline Jones trilogy, although those tend to focus more around one character and this has a group.
Whilst I didn't find this to he the best middle grade horror I've ever read, it was easy to read and enjoyable, and there is absolutely room for the series to spout into promising directions. There is always room for improvement with any series, and especially when an author finds their stride. I will look forward to the next one.
