Me and my son (12) read the previous book by this author of a similar name (shiver point: it came from the woods) which was really good. So we had high expectations for this book and was not disappointed.

As with the previous book it was a kids spooky, book (goosebump vibes) about scarecrows, which was fully entertaining I enjoyed it as an adult and son who is autistic loved it. He was hooked from the beginning to the end. It was not to scary that it is unsuitable for children but also scary enough that they won’t feel it’s a ‘baby’ book. It’s age appropriate while also giving the sense of being a bit spooky and scary that older children and young teenagers will love. It’s easy to read so they don’t have to be advanced readers to enjoy this book.

Definitely aimed more at children/ young teenagers I would say age 7/8 through to 12/13 would enjoy this. But as an adult I did enjoy it to.
