I liked the theme of this book as a scandalous scarecrow is not something I’ve read about before! So this was a really interesting character and I am sure it will be popular at all times of the year but in particular during the Autumn - I'm not sure why I think this but it just felt very autumnal!
I did like to read about the group of children that were known as the Shiver Squad as they were a fun group and I liked the mission that they were embarking on. The mission of saving their town from a villain was very exciting and even more so since the villain was an unusual one and quite a scandalous one too.
This was a well written tale that would be a good fun read for all children aged 7- 11 years that are proficient readers. I think that children would be attracted to the book cover and the title and that they would enjoy the chapters and the exciting storyline.
