Enjoyable "horror" romp
Despite being a little older than the target audience, I really enjoyed this horror romp, set in the sleep town of Shiver Point.
Take a rag tag group of school misfits, chuck in a mysterious light which crashes into the forest one night and the sudden appearance of strange black, slug like, creatures and you have "Shiver Point, It Came From The Woods".
The characters have their own individual quirks, so I daresay most readers would find a degree of similarity with at least one.
The horror is creepy but just the right amount of scary, I don't think this will keep anyone up at night. However the friendship that the kids form is lovely to follow and an active imagination will allow the reader to imagine things that go bump in the night.
Part alien invasion, part "zombie" takeover and with a good old race against time, this has all the ingredients to become a fabulous series.
