i quite enjoyed this book, while im not the target audience it was still a good read. its not too long and plenty of action, nothing ever happens in shiver point, until a group of, misfit 12 year old's. who after spotting a meteor fall from the sky into the woods around midnight, must work together to save the town of shiver point from a space monster. the characters are all likeable in their own way, they all have different upbringings (raised by grandad, single mother, same sex parents etc) and their own challenges, (struggling to make friends for various reasons) main character alex, is new to shiver point and is struggling to make friend, worried incase he has to move away again due to his mums hospital job, he doesn't want to have to leave a new set of friends, i would quite happily read other books in the series, they remind me the goosebumps kind of books, little scary but without being graphic,
