This is a great spooky story - something to enjoy at this time of the year. The level of spooky is perfectly aimed at children.

The book follows Alex, as he moves to Shiver Point and battles with being the new boy at school, as he is without friends.

He sees a meteorite fall from the sky and goes into the woods to try and get a piece to sell, so he can try and help his mum. (Alex is such a great little boy!)

When he gets there, there is already a group of kids surrounding the meteor. As this group of misfits aims to investigate and save their town from all kinds of strange goings-on, they inevitably become friends.

This book was full of excitement and adventure. It is fast-paced and I think that young readers would really enjoy this.

I've given it three stars, as I do not think I am the intended audience as I often read slightly more advanced middle-grade books.

Overall, a good read!
