I really enjoyed this one, with nothing bad to report.

Given that I'm not the target audience, I'm possibly not the best to judge...but having read many children's books (both to myself when younger, and to my 10 year old daughter) I think I've read a lot to compare it to.

And this compares favourably. I used to love Famous Five, Secret Seven, Point Horror, Goosebumps...and this book plays on a lot of similar themes. We have a group of children trying to solve a mystery (although they're a more diverse group of children than in my old books!). We've got aliens, tunnels, bodysnatchers - it's all good 'but not too scary' stuff and written well.

I think my daughter will love this when she gets the chance to read it, there's enough suspense and drama to keep a child interested, without it being too much. This looks as though it's going to be part of a series, I look forward to book 2!
