This is a creepy, spine tingling start to a new sci-fi/horror series for children. It reminds me of an updated, more modern version of Goosebumps and Shivers books which I enjoyed as a child.
The story was interesting with some unexpected twists throughout and it was just the right level of scary for children. Plus it is extremely gross in some parts which is bound to delight the kids too!
What I liked most was the Shiver Point gang. They are a very diverse and inclusive group. They are very different from one and other but what they do all have in common is that they are in some way lonely. They all have their worries and problems that I think we can all relate too. It was really lovely to see them all bond and the friendships to develop.
Now this group is bounded together from this experience I’m excited to see what creepy adventures await them next time.
