I passed It Came From The Woods by Gabriel Dylan onto my resident age appropriate reviewer. Apparently it is the first of the series to come and that looks like it will go down well. It is suitable for quite young children I would say despite being a bit of a horror story. It sets up the series very nicely. The scene is set and the characters are drawn nicely. They come together to work as a gang but are individually fleshed out in a satisfying fashion. More importantly for the target age group the story is spooky enough but not disturbing and the exciting enough to keep the attention of the reader and the re-reader. It is fast paced but the characters still have time to develop nicely. Shout out for Howlmoor Forest too. Very Dickensian! Recommended for tweenies of all ages. Hope the series goes on and on and lets these characters grow and grow.
