This story begins with a headteacher of a school being found drowned in her bath tub. Sooner or later, another body is found and a connection is made between the two: they both worked within the same children's home.

When I picked this book up, I had no idea that it was set to be a series and I had no idea that this was the authors DEBUT novel?! For a debut novel, this is pretty solid stuff to say the least. I must admit, I am yet to get my hands on the next books in the series but when I can't wait to do so!

This book was gripping, exciting, interesting and a really impressive debut novel. The main character was someone who I related to immediately and I felt like I had known her personally for ages and it takes a very good writer to be able to master that skill.

However, unfortunately I did manage to suss out the ending of this book from around half way through which always is something that puts the rating down a bit for me. But that doesn't take away any enjoyment and I can't wait to read more.
