I loved this book.
The story has so many twists and turns and I didn’t expect any of them. It’s the first book that looks into the life of this Detective who not only has to fight to put bad people behind bars, but has to fight her own demons too. I loved the way the author threw in snippets of information about Kims life when she was small and intertwined the tragedy in her life with how she handles cases and it explains a lot about her character. It was so easy to read and each short chapter was left on a bit of a cliff hanger which made it so difficult to put down because I had to know what was going to happen next. I love the way the ending is written in short sharp bursts too. It goes into a bit of detail about the care system and although it may be a sore subject for a lot of people, it gives a lot of insight not only to what it must have been like, but to how it forms you later on in life. Would definitely recommend!
